So pleased with where everything is going! This picture is from last weekend. I planted my pepper plants, the new cucumber seedlings, the tomatoes, and then mulched. This weekend I planted the celery seedlings and weeded the pumpkins (wow, those Jerusalem artichokes really take over…) and will finish mulching today. I’m so impressed with living things! They are tougher than you think.
I am trying the black fabric under the cedar mulch to keep the temperature and water level more consistent. I have to admit, it’s working – the temperature dropped to about 10 degrees and cold rain a couple days ago but the peppers look absolutely unaffected by it all. I did have to add support to one that was a little droopy. Finishing the cedar mulching today and hopefully it will keep the weeds at bay throughout the wedding week. Maybe I’ll come home to something flowering!
The apple trees have little apple buds on them – you sure can’t stand in the way of nature, she just keeps on a-rolling!
